There is a lot of new information that I learned from this first unit. I enjoyed learning about the different ways of which a teacher can interact with his or her class and how all of these possibilities can lead to a more effective learning process for new English speakers. I also learned the different levels of English speakers and the wide rage of possibilities there are for kids and adults. There are many different ways that would influence someone to decide to speak English (motivations) which is why there needs to be a good variety of roles that the teacher plays throughout a class. This is very important to understand in order to help each individual in the classroom. I found it most interesting when the lesson said that a good teacher would have good students, and I think that this is very accurate. Once you are able to understand all of the possibilities that you have in order to teach well, you can inspire your students to do the same with their learning and actually want to learn and speak English.
