This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit dived into lesson planning, which is an aid to planning, a working document and a record of what each class covers. It covered how a lesson plan should be written down, what to include in the lesson plan, and how to be organized about it all along the way. Lesson plans should include learner objectives, personal aims, language points, teaching aids, anticipated problems (for the students and the teacher), procedure, phase, timing, interaction, class level, number of students, date/time, teacher's and observer's names. An example of a standard lesson plan was provided, followed by a blank one to practice and take notes for myself. The lesson plans incorporated the \"engage, study and activate\" concepts that were introduced in past units. At the end of the unit, it was stressed how important it is for teachers to be monitoring the progress of the students, their strengths and weaknesses, what went well and what didn't work, so that future lesson plans can be adjusted to best suit your particular class.
