This unit could be viewed as beneficial or redundant depending of the experiences of the teacher. Anyone with the desire to teach, regardless of in their own country or abroad, has had experience in the classroom as a student. By reminiscing about what their teachers did, they should be able to pick out instances when lessons used authentic materials or any version of created materials. Furthermore, if a teacher has experience as a teacher, then they should be well aware of pitfalls that can arise by using only the issued course book and not trying to find ways to supplement or adapt the information to better suit their class. If the potential teacher has no work experience then this unit will prove to be beneficial. It will give them confidence, ideas, and start a critical thinking process when they are planning their lessons. One thing that should be noted is that certain school administrations, and cultural norms may dictate the need to see completed work in the course book instead of other supplementary forms.
