This unit has taught me different teaching methodologies and the importance of the phases: engaging, studying, and activating. Once I apply that to the way I was taught and to how I gave my lesson demonstration, it makes more sense to me what exactly I was doing. You want to get the class excited by learning so you try to introduce the material in a way that will peak their interest and keep it. You don't give off too much information, but you are slowing introducing it. They study part is when you are going learning the information through activities. The last method you are now putting the information you learned to use. When I did my teaching demo, I used all three phases without knowing. It makes a lot more sense to me as in why I did it. I was also able to get a better understanding when it came to correcting a student. I feel it is easy for a student to get discouraged if they get a question wrong to where they will not want to answer another question again. They way you correct them plays a major factor in that.
