This Unit dwells upon the most common problem situations that may challenge the teacher in the classroom and suggests effective ways of dealing with them. The problem situations observed in the Unit include difficulties at first lessons with both new and existing groups, getting students warmed up and in the mood for English at the beginning of the class, students of different levels in one group, organizing work in large classes, use of native language in monolingual classes, reluctant students and difficulties with listening texts. I have learnt from this Unit a variety of useful solutions for the problems that a teacher may come across in their practice. Now I'm aware of some nuances that must be taken into consideration by any good teacher. For instance, I now know why it's essential to only respond to English in communication with students, or which dangers might be awaiting for teachers who don't do anything about the problem of different levels in a group and pair stronger students with weaker ones without due care.
