Lesson planning is very important for new teachers as this will help to guide the proper steps to doing or delivering the lesson.As they have to follow some important functions : An aid to planning,Writing down what we expect the students to achieve by the end of the lessonand how we intend to make it possible. A working document, lesson plans help us to keep on target and gives us something to refer to during lessons. It acts as a record of what a class has done and which materials have been used. Teachers should also know the basic principles f lesson planning. It should be kept simple. Don not try to script the lesson, structure it, and maintain the same structure, write the ancitipated time for each activity in the margin. Check for balance of skills. Try to make sure activities fit together to give the lesson a smooth flow. Keep it flexible and open to adaptation. As new teachers , some follow the same lesson planning structures. Once a teacher is well versed with the lesson, sometimes taking down notes is just enough.
