This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit provided an overview of modal verbs and passive voice and an introduction to phrasal verbs. These can be rather difficult as they change the meaning of the primary verbs in the sentence. They are useful for discussing probability, permission, and and giving advice. Passive voice seems to be a bit easier to explain, as it reduces the importance of the agent and focuses on the subject of the verb. Phrasal verbs are rather complicated, and the unit material's suggestion to teach them as vocabulary makes sense, especially for lower level language learners. Thanks for a very informative unit on classroom management. I don't remember more than perhaps one class I had to take regarding classroom management during my college courses in education. I learned on the job (which was not easy) and went by instinct. Luckily, I became very interested in the Montessori Method of teaching during my early teaching years. This method teaches many, many classroom mgt techniques, useful for any classroom. I have relied on these techniques throughout my entire teaching career - and they work! Thanks again for a very important unit!
