This unit focused on receptive skills which are mainly divided into listening and reading.
I found it useful to learn the perspective of the learners on the matter. How various difficulties can arise while undergoing these phases of language learning can be quite tough to overcome. The adopted solutions such as pre-teaching vocabulary and a careful selection of texts which can inspire or spark the interest of students are indeed aspects not to be taken lightly.Since some of these Techniques and Methodologies are new to me, i find it a bit confusing at first but then i as try to analyse it one by one it appears to be very useful in my line of work. The ESA makes me think how to elicit from the students rather than feeding them right away the words or lesson for the day. As i start this unit, i tried to apply the theories as to be more effective in teaching. This unit also teaches me not to correct the student harshly.
