This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In the Unit we learnt about the most common methods and techniques used for teaching a foreign language. After reading about different techniques I came to the conclusion that I''d been mostly using \"Presentation, practice and production\" and \"Engage, Study and Activate\" methods during my classes. This Unit taught us how the oder of ESA stages can vary. In my opinion, the most important thing to remember is that while using ESA method, we should always start with an Engage stage and finish with an Activate stage.
There are many great ideas of games and activities for all ESA phases in this Unit, I was happy to realize that I'd been using many of them during my teaching experience. I have also found smth new for me, for example, I've never tried playing a Fizz-Buzz game with number seven.
I also made sure that I was doing the right thing while asking the students to correct themselves first, or asking their classmates to help if the student wasn't able to do so, and only then I said a correct sentence if both failed.
