Teaching pronunciation and phonology is very hard for language learners and very important for teachers to be able to help students in this part of the language. It is often neglected by teachers because teachers themselves lack confidence to teach it methodically and training. Phonology is the study of the physical properties of sounds. Stress, rhythm, intonation, and phonetic alphabet are all important to help students understand the pronunciation of English.As is usually with most things, planning ahead is an excellent way to create a better and more structured class and also to anticipate any problem that may arise during the lesson. Of course it is impossible to know exactly what is going to happen during class, however, when we have a lesson plan it is easier to adapt ourselves to the circumstances. A writing lesson plan can be of much help; this unit allowed me to see just what to consider to create this plan.
