There are 5 different conditional scentences. Zero, first, second third and mixed. For students it might be confusing to spot the differences in these sentences. A fun way to learn is to present a scenario in a role play like mentioned in this unit with the nuclear bunker where the students creat sentence if i live, i will... Another great exercise is the split sentences wehere the conditional sentences get split in half and and mixed up and have to be connected back together.
New for me in this unit was the rule for the change of the tenses from direct to reported speech.As a new teacher, I think that course books are an ideal supplement for my inexperience. The notion of adapting and supplementing content based on a tried syllabus would allow me to work within a frame that guarantees a structured learning experience for students while I retain creativity and involvement by modifying the materials to their needs and interests. In this way, I could further build rapport and a constructive environment by ensuring that students remain interested in the material and are aware that I am eager to learn about them and adapt lessons to their needs.
