Tests should not be ignored in the classroom. As a teacher one should find a way to make the students see tests as a friendly way of assessing results and performance instead of viewing tests as intimidating. When students get accustomed to tests in classrooms, writing external examinations would not be as difficult or strange. The way a teacher assessed the students performances should be fair and encouraging. Tests also serve as a platform to assist slacking students and also helps a teacher in self-evaluation.Unit four reviewed the four present tenses (present simple, present progressive, present perfect, present perfect continuous). I learned that other languages do not have as many tenses, and that it is important to keep this in mind when teach ELLs, as these concepts will likely overwhelm or intimidate them. I completed the task worksheets to ensure that I understood the tenses thoroughly. I learned about some activities I can facilitate in the classroom to help students understand the various tenses of the present.
