I learned various techniques that I could use to put together an effective lesson in a classroom. The unit focused on the best way of approaching teaching a new language concept to a student and ways to make sure they can understand it without becoming confused. There are a lot of good ideas to use in a class when I will have to engage or activate the students. I am also still learning mistakes to avoid when interacting with students so that they do not become discouraged and continue to progress with their English skills.In this unit I learned about different types of equipment and teaching aids, including but not limited to: computers, cassettes, visual aids, camcorders, IWB, whiteboards, OHPs, and more. I learned about which equipment and aids are usual to teachers in certain situations, such as the fact that computers are useful to have in a class but should not be used too much or it will lose some of its advantage as a teaching aid. I also learned about many useful web resources in this lesson that will be helpful to me when teaching.
