I appreciated the many links provided at the end of this unit and have already been browsing through a few of them.
To be honest though, this unit felt very tedious and at times completely outdated. Particularly the references to cassettes and OHPs. These later units (14 onwards) increasingly seem to be common sense/knowledge and not a lot of new or helpful information is presented. I think some of these testing and equipment units would be more useful if they were replaced with grammar or lesson planning chapters. The unit discusses different types of tests and external tests that might be taken by students who learn English. Each type of test has its own function and purpose and teachers should give the appropriate one for their students. Choosing the right test to be given to your students can be seen from many factors, one of them is the starting and the ending of a class. Tests will give important information to the teachers as to what language points students have been able to remember and ones which they have forgotten.
