This unit showed me 2 different videos of a teacher who conducted a class using an effective and ineffective way of teaching.
Teacher's attitude has a big role in managing a class so establishing rapport between
a teacher and students plays an important part. You are most likely to let the students involved
in class if you have established rapport with them.
On the other hand, engaging students by giving an activity is a good way
to warm them up and to get them be involved all throughout the lesson. The way which the teacher
in the first video engaged the students to the lesson is so ineffective. He is also so much teacher-centered wherein he was just almost the only person who was talking all throughout the class which is in contrast with the second video.
For us, teachers, to conduct a flexible and smooth lesson we must be prepared by planning a lesson for our
class. We should not always forget to let them be involved in class and
not just pay much attention to ourself or in other words, we should not be teacher-centered.
