This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I feel that after reading unit 16 and watching its related video tutorial, I now have a clearer idea of the different methods that can be used to evaluate EFL students and the different ways, we as teachers, can be tested on their knowledge of the language.
I also really liked how this section made a clear and concise picture the different types of test and examinations most EFL teachers are likely to use in the classroom and come across in the language school they may be teaching in. Such as the placement tests, diagnostic tests, progress tests, practice tests and proficiency tests.
For example, how placement tests and diagnostic tests are more the types of tests given to students at the start of a course, to determine their level of English, get to know what they do or don’t know and help the teacher gather students in same group level. Whereas progress tests are more the type of periodic test a teacher may give weekly or monthly on the work covered in class, in order to check its student’s progress over time.
