I enjoyed watching the videos and was trying to pull out things that I had learned in previous lessons. It was interesting to see how bad the teacher taught the first lesson and then how he and the students did so well in the next lesson. I've been a little bit intimidated by teaching, but watching the films helped me to see that it doesn't have to be complicated and that with proper planning I can teach. I'm looking forward to monitoring some classes in the near future to see how other teachers do and how they compare to the examples given in this lesson.Unit 6 looked at two examples of ESA classes with the same teacher and students. There was a big difference between the two classes, especially in terms of the teacher?s attitude and approach to the students. In the first class the teacher seemed very disengaged and failed to make the class interesting and engaging for the students. In the second class the teacher was noticeably happier and seemed to really enjoy teaching. He used non-verbal cues to help the students to understand certain vocabulary and encouraged each student to participate and try.
