This unit began to discuss the many forms of tenses including the three main times of present, past, and future, as well as the four different aspects of each time. These include simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous. The present tense was discussed in this unit, and examples were given for positive, negative, and questioning forms of each aspect. It discussed common errors students make, as well as providing Activate stage activity suggestions for class.This was an informative unit as I am starting to learn the idiosyncrasies of teaching English a a second language. In my previous teaching roles, my students all spoke English. I was more focused on content instead of method of delivery.
When teaching students who do not have a good grasp of English, preparation becomes critical. It would be easy for them to tune out or not succeed. Communication skills become almost as important as the technical content of the lesson
