After an extended break from this online course I found it difficult to recall the scope and sequence of the ESA lesson, but reading the exemplars in the unit PDF was helpful. Lesson planning is the heart of good teaching and in my current position as a Special Educator I find it challenging to plan for and anticipate every hurdle my students will face. My questions after this unit of the course remains related to this idea: how can I anticipate and react to expected student struggles?The unit contains guidelines for using and choosing books and materials for the class. There are some criterias for choosing book suitable for different groups of students. Advantages and disadvantages of authentic and created materials are given. In order to maximise the output of the book the teacher can adapt or even replace the exercises, some of the lessons could be omited. As I think supplemention by extra, more creative and up-to-date activities is a key for interesting lessons.
