This unit explained how to teach vocabulary which included selecting which words to teach, what students need to know about a vocabulary item, techniques for vocabulary teaching and a typical ESA vocabulary lesson. It also explained how to introduce grammatical structures, techniques for presenting and practicing language structures and a typical ESA grammar lesson. Lastly, it explained how to teach language functions and provided a typical ESA function lesson.The four basic skill in nay language is productive skills- speaking and writing and receptive skills- reading and listening . This unit focused on receptive skills- reading and listening which provides a medium for achieving a certain goal. Receptive skills are therefore very important when it comes to interpreting the English language, therefore it should taught in a way that when one reads they understand and when they listen to a lesson they also understand.
