This was a very useful unit, as , not only did it go over all the different types of resources a teacher can use. It also described how to use them, and advantages and disadvantages of each. It also listed a lot of useful websites available for teachers. Having all of these resources at your disposal is very useful because it allows the teacher to create and develop new, interesting and effective lessons. It allows the teacher to be creative so their students not get bored, and instead stay motivated and excited about learning.This unit explained the importance of not only productive, but also the equally important receptive skills. I found that the explanation of the different processes that take place during the teaching and learning of receptive skills was quite helpful in pointing out that there are a variety of components that take place during the acquisition and application of these skills. Stating the different ways in which we read and listen helped to identify key ways in which a lesson could be tailored to address each of these components.
