This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
The first thing that surprised me about Unit 4 immediately, was the fact that there were 12 tenses in \"the tense system\" that EFL teachers have discovered. Although intimidating at first, the unit did a fantastic job of providing solid examples of each tense and their uses. What I found especially helpful was the section regarding \"Sample activate stage teaching ideas\" where teachers can form different games or scenarios to help students practice with tense--\"Guess My Profession\" works really well because it plays similar to \"20 Questions\" where the student is prompted to ask questions, a great practice in Question Form tense. Another pointer I found interesting is the use of contractions in tenses (i.e, I am learning vs. I'm learning) and the ability for students to understand them and possibly use them interchangeably. It would be in my best interest as a teacher to separate contractions and regular form; similar to how they were separated in chart form in the lesson so they don't make the same errors that were pointed out.
