This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit four explored one of the two types of tenses in the English language, the present tense. There are four present tenses: present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. I had learned each of these tenses long ago and forgot many of their basic usages. This unit was a refresher from previous knowledge because I use these sentence structures without thinking as a native English speaker. The verb conjugations for each present tense could be difficult for new English speakers, especially the irregular verbs such as “be†or “goâ€. Although I think this unit gives great activities to help with these situations on how to use the tenses properly. One of the activities which I liked was the “guess who†game for example to guess an occupation of another. Another game was called “change the room†where the students move objects while a couple of students have to figure out the changes in the room. Overall, this unit was about the present tense in the English language.
