In this unit, I get to know that reading and listening are receptive skills. Language, topic, genre and comprehension tasks can be a barrier to understand a text in a way, what ESL teachers can do is to facilitate comprehension. Teachers are supposed to choose the materials that interest students and build interest before listening or reading. After Engage and Study, it is better for ESL teachers to incorporate activate phases which naturally lead on from the passage.This unit covered a wide variety of issues under the umbrella of managing the classroom. The unit covered everything from the physical dimensions of the classroom to responding to problem behavior. I felt like the majority of information contained in this unit was pretty intuitive, there was little information that was novel or surprising. However, I understand much of it still necessary. The thing I found most helpful were the simple tips regarding giving instruction.
