There is a large number of different methods that are used to teach students. Some of which include grammar-translation, audio,presentation practice and production, task-based learning, communicative language learning and communicative language teaching. The ESA, also known and engage study and activate, is a plan used as a means to pass on the knowledge to students. The ESA can then be further broken down into three categories, which are the straight arrow esa, the boomerang esa and the patchwork esa.I found it helpful to think of specific ways to deal with the difficulties encountered with receptive skills. I also felt that it is good to remember that the text the students read or the things they listen to will have to be at an appropriate level to be received. You cannot always make authentic connections, but it is more important to make it interesting and relatable to the students. Time and effort must be put into the planning phase to make the lesson accessible and enjoyable to the students.
