Teaching EFL with authentic materials is a good idea as long as you pre-teach the vocabulary involved. Authentic material they may see in their home environment like internet ads or magazine articles is a great way to make a real-world connection with a class. On the other hand, hand-made materials like flashcards and role-play cards give the impression of an engaged teacher. Many students will appreciate the effort put into making such materials and have a better attitude.That unit taught me about importance of evaluation and testing. It cannot be denied that the evaluation of teaching and learning foreign language is a complex activity. A good teacher creates incentives for students to learn more. He sets up effective and definite goals for learning by giving tests. It is a good motive for the students to study harder or to do better work. It makes the teacher and the students familiar with their own results, with their good and bad points.
