Modal auxiliaries are special verbs which behave irregularly in English. They are different from normal verbs like \"work, play, visit,etc. They give additional information about the function of the main verb that follows it. They have a great variety of communicative functions. This unit has been very useful and complicated at the same time. I think that this modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice should be taught naturally during the classes so the students can become more familiar with their use.This unit covered the four past tenses. Knowing what the continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous aspects have in common accross all three times makes it much easier to retain an understanding of all twelve tenses. I look forward to planning activities which will allow my students to exercise the tenses as various tenses appear within the passages of their text books. I am intrested in seeing whether or not the Past Perfect and Past Perfect Continuous tenses appear frequently in their textbooks.
