This unit has shown me the importance of reading and listening skills, there are other skills as well, such as writting and speaking which are also very important.
And that when planning a lesson (if possible) include all of these.
There are two different reasons why anyone would read or listen to anything.
• For entertainment
• For a purpose
Unit 11 teaches you how to this information to really grab a students
attention when trying to engage them in a lesson or teach them anything really.
The goal is to get to know your students likes and dislikes.
But you dont just want to make them intrested you want to motivate them, or encourage them to learn. Doing this will help students understand English and make it much more enjoyable for both parties.
Unit 11 also gives you some good ideas for exercises and examples you can use and encourages you to make your own (which I have..) based off of what they have written already.
I have found this unit very important and full of good information for teaching.
