This unit was very useful because I learned that classroom management is the skill of organizing and managing, having a friendly, relaxed manner and maintaining discipline. I learned how to use eye contact , gestures and my voice appropriately and effectively. I also learned about how to group students, and when it is appropriate for whole class, individual, pair work and group work. I learned about the pros and cons of different classroom arrangements such as orderly rows, circles and horseshoes and when they could be used.I learned about the importance of the teacher's position in the classroom, and when it is appropriate to stand or sit.I learned about how to write on the board effectively to reduce the amount of time you turn your back on the students. I learned about how to reduce the amount of teacher talk time and increase the amount of student talk time. I also learned about giving instructions, establishing rapport and maintaining discipline. I learned about the reasons for problem behavior and how to prevent it and respond to it.
