This unit features two videos of English teaching using the same teacher, the same students, the same teaching point (introducing modal auxiliary verbs), but with two very different teaching styles and outcomes due to the differences in the teaching methods used by the teacher. The first video showed the teacher using a poor version of teaching because he left his students confused and intimidated due to his insensitive style of teaching. The second video demonstrated the same teacher, but this time he displayed a positive and engaging attitude that the students respond to with a high level of participation. The first video also demonstrated a teacher who made errors in his teaching style, such as reading a book while the students were studying, and not praising the students for their efforts when they attempted to answer questions. This was very different from the teaching style demonstrated in the second video in which the teacher spoke clearly, spoke the names of the students and involved all of the students in the teaching session.
