The content from this unit demonstrates the characteristics of what helps create an excellent teacher and an excellent learner, the roles a teacher brings to the classroom, and the factors of the learner that must be considered in order to effectively teach. The information from this unit has helped me understand that if the teacher truly wants to make an impact in the learners education, the teacher must care about how he or she teaches, but also for the learning of his or students. Even if the teacher is very knowledgeable about the material that he or she teaches, the educator must also consider the learners age, the level of the learners, and if the assigned activities are truly going to help the learners understand the material that they are studying. One assigned in class activity could be too difficult for a beginner English class, or if an activity is not organized properly, the activity might not allow the students to engage in meaningful conversations which could lead students to speak only in their native language or get off task.
