This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this unit, we learned that there are 3 main different times or tenses in the English language: past, present and future. Each one of these has four different types: simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. Therefore, altogether there are twelve tenses this course will examine.
This unit continued in detail with a focus on the four types of present tenses. The present simple tense has the purpose of stating routine actions, telling present stories, giving directions and stating newspaper headlines or historical events. The present continuous tense has the purpose of talking about actions that are currently taking place or stating frequent events. The present perfect tense connects the past to the present and focuses mostly on indefinite or unfinished times periods. Lastly, the present perfect continuous tense puts the two previous tenses together by having the purpose of connecting the past with actions that are still currently taking place.
Many helpful examples, typical errors and possibly activities were given for each type.
