This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In Unit 4, I learned about the four present tenses: present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. There are then three additional forms that make up these grammar points: affirmative, negative and question. I also found the list of 'usages' to be the most helpful. This allows for the learners to absorb the material in an easier, non-technical way. For present simple, some examples include habitual/routine actions, directions, and present stories. For present continuous, some examples include talking about an action that is in progress at the time of speaking and describing developing situations. For present perfect, some examples include talking about finished actions that happened in an indefinite time and talking about something which began in the past and is still true now. For present perfect continuous, some examples include communicating an incomplete and ongoing activity, when we want to say how long it continued, and describing a recently finished, uninterrupted activity which has a present result.
