I learned that getting the students excited and enthusiastic about the lesson in the engage phase will help them learn more in the study and activate phases. It is important to put together a lesson plan that reiterates the topic utilizing a wide variety of exercises and activities to continue to motivate the students while improving their skills. I am learning that by keeping the lessons fun and different learning can occur without the boredom of repetition.Unit 17 on Equipment and Teaching Aids provided numerous website links and resources that may prove helpful when preparing lesson plans as well as to further my TESOL education. This unit is also a good reminder that technology changes rapidly and it is to one's benefit to keep up with new trends in order to be as effective as possible in the classroom and, if possible depending on the school and region, provide the most relevant and updated teaching materials.
