This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 17 goes over some of the most common teaching aids and equipment used in the classroom. Common items include a white board or chalk board, smart board, overhead projector, visual aids, worksheets, cassette recorder, CD player, videos and DVDs, video camera, dictionaries, course books, resource books, photocopiers, computers, and online resources. The unit gives a brief explanation of each item?s purpose and sometimes provides advantages and disadvantages of using certain items.
This was an interesting unit. I never quite realized how much equipment or teaching aids I use on a regular basis while teaching my students, until I saw most of the items within this unit. In a world that is growing ever more technological, I liked how this unit stressed upon checking to make sure that the equipment worked as well as making sure teachers have a back-up plan in case of total equipment failure.
