This unit highlighted the difficulties that English language students can face in terms of transposing tenses and time phrases when it comes to direct and reported speech. This unit explained clearly how different tenses should change when a sentence is converted to reported speech. Moreover, this unit showed me the different types of conditional tenses and I was shown the intricacies and subtle differences between each version. By highlighting potential and common errors which students encounter, this unit will allow me to be able to anticipate my students' problem areas if/when the time comes for me to plan a lesson based on the conditional tenses.
