The unit discusses the various types of groups one may teach if teaching students English. The special groups require different needs and planning of the course. For instance, beginner children learners the teacher will need to address attention seeking behaviors, peer pressure, and boredom. These behaviors are typically not seen at the adult phase (beginner or advance). When teaching adults English for a specific purpose the plan looks different than teaching the absolute beginner, the false beginner, the adult beginner and the young beginner. Adults who are learning English for business are usually seen one-on-one or in small groups. These individuals can receive a needs analysis to identify specific objectives of the course.
