This unit was very long and covered many things. Intonation, stress, and pronunciation are all very important to learn especially for the productive skill of speaking. I think once students know how to say and speak really well, they can gain a lot of confidence in their skills. I think many learners of English like the sound of the language. So if they can emulate it well, they will be more keen to speak in class or to others. As a native speaker myself, it was quite hard to get used to the phonemic alphabet. It takes a little practice but I definitely think it will be handy in the future if and when explaining things from the dictionary.
