I have learnt several examples of behaviour that make for effective and ineffective lessons. The attitude of the teacher has a significant effect on the students. The teacher in the first video was unfriendly and kept enforcing that the lesson content is easy. This made the students feel intimidated and they participated less in class. The teacher in the second video was more friendly and offered positive reinforcement. The students were much more engaged and willing to participate.
I also learnt that it is important to employ multiple strategies to ensure that students understand the lesson. Using gestures and speaking slowly helps them understand the language. Providing examples of how to do an activity helps them complete the task.
