I have leant how to use ESA method to teach an English class, how to arouse the students? interest and get them involved in the lesson. We can not only use introduction prompts or partner information share, but also we can play many games during the engage phase. In this unit, it introduced many kinds of games, for example, Fizz-buzz, memory games, word linking. We need to adapt different activity to different language levels. I also got an idea about what the different between an error and a mistake, a mistake could be a slip of tongue or the pen, and the student is able to correct himself of herself. An error is something that is ingrained and can not be easily iron out. So when it happens, who corrects and when should we correct is more important. Should we let the students correct themselves or let other students to correct? This unit had just given me an idea how to correct the students, and we need to bear in mind, never jump into a student?s speech to correct.
