This unit discussed the different types of present tenses used in the English language. A description of each tense as well as a few examples were given. Additionally, information concerning trouble areas for English learners and teaching strategies were detailed. I learned a lot in this unit! As a native speaker, I causally use multiple verb tenses all the time. However, I rarely think about which tense of verb I am using and why using that verb makes sense. I was surprised to discover that there are twelve verb tenses! As a native speaker, I had some difficulty categorizing the present verb tenses. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for language learners to digest this information.
