The lesson comprises two of arguably the most difficult skills in language learning: speaking and writing - or the producing skills. English presents particularly difficult challenges to writing because it is not a phonetic language and different spellings for words that sound the same will undoubtedly confuse many students. Creative teaching will be the ESL teacher's greatest asset with these producing skills. Staying positive and keeping the students engaged and excited to learn these difficult skills through the use of games and group work will be vital towards the success of the students acquiring speaking and writing skills.
