This unit provided a great review of troubleshooting common problems in the classroom. These problems included first lessons, different levels, large classes, use of native language, reluctant students, and difficulties with listening texts. It's likely that teachers will come across a number of these common problems in the classroom, and this unit provided a lot of helpful tips for addressing them. It was emphasized that establishing rapport among students as well as between the teachers and the class in the first lesson is very important in influencing the rest of the class. It is important to encourage students as much as possible by choosing activities and planning lessons wisely to cater to students' abilities and interests.
