This unit provided a very effective demonstration of dos and don'ts during a lesson. It put into use many of the concepts taught in previous units. In video 2, the teacher displayed most of the elements of a good teacher as stated in unit 1: being lively and entertaining by miming animals to the students; being able to motivate learners by fully engaging them in the lesson; having good rapport and interaction with the class by being friendly and smiling; being able to involve all students equally throughout the lesson by learning their names and giving everyone an opportunity to answer questions. The teacher was also very good at managing the class making effective use of eye contact, gestures and voice. Timing activities also made it easy to manage the time for the lesson. Seeing so many points from the previous units in action throughout the videos and also seeing what not to do and the differences that can make a class effective has been very helpful to me.
