This unit introduced the functions, benefits and challenges associated with preparing and utilizing lesson plans in teaching English. It introduced the basic principles and purposes of lesson plans, such as giving the lesson a structure while retaining flexibility and activating as many student language skills as possible. There was also a brief overview of considerations for planning series of lessons as opposed to isolated ones. The unit also included a sample lesson plan, and a blank plan to utilize for the task sheet, which was especially useful in familiarizing myself with the process of planning a lesson.
