Unit 5 discusses classroom management. From the use of eye contact, to discipline, to the actual physical layout of the classroom-- all of these factors come into play when managing a classroom. I learned that you can incorporate your own personality into your management style, and that each individual class may require a different management style. I was interested to learn about finding a good ratio teacher-talk-time (TTT) to student-talk-time (STT), and also how important it is to build and maintain positive rapport with your students. It was also interesting to learn about the potential reasons behind students with problematic behaviors, and also how to best address those students without embarrassing them.
