This unit covered a number of topics on a broad basis including needs assessments, unit development, examinations and other forms of assessments. It is very important to know how to do a needs assessment before a class begins, especially for a class the is directed to learners who are learning for a specific purpose. It is important to have the students feel like they are learning valuable and relevant information. A good teacher will know where the students are at and what they hope to achieve in the course. The teacher should then develop an appropriate syllabus to maximize the students time. The teacher will need to develop and provide examinations and assessments through out the course to determine how well the students are understanding the information being taught.
