This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit focuses on the future tense and its various kinds of conjugations. Out of all of the time frames, future poses the most challenges because certain conjugations of the present tense--simple and continuous--can also be used to dictate the future, in addition to the phrase \"going to\" that can also be mistaken for both the present and future tenses. Teachers must grasp these concepts in order to help students and prevent their confusion. The same applies for the uses of these tenses. While the future simple and \"going to\" tenses are both used to make predictions, the former is used when there is no clear evidence as a basis for that prediction while the latter is used with present evidence to make a prediction. Clarifying subtle differences like these will help students use each tense correctly. By highlighting these nuances, I feel more prepared to distinguish between and better teach the future tenses.
