I learned how to decide what vocabulary is important and to teach that certain vocabulary through teaching methods like boomerang, straight arrow, or patchwork teaching structures. The most important thing to remember in my opinion is that In the engage phase we are Discussing, scenario building, prompting, question and answer,. While in the study phase it may be good to use information gaps. In the activation phase it is best to use debates, games, role play and story building to drive home vocabulary terms. One great way to teach vocabulary lies in spaced repetition listening and repeating.This section covered the importance of teaching students pronunciation, such as the phonemic alphabet and how to visualize pronunciation. Since many of my future students will want to use their English knowledge in actual situations, proper pronunciation is so important to learn and review. I have often poked fun at my own language for words that are spelled the same and pronounced differently because it truly is complicated and confusing. I studied a little bit of linguistics and remembered some of these lessons. Despite there being a lot to remember, the images and examples really did help.
