Unit eight was very interesting in that as a native English speaker I have used the terms explained here all my life but have never given any real thought to the structure or naming of the tense. The present simple indicates future facts and certainties \"I will be 50 in Oct.\" The future continuous using \"Will\", \"Be\" and a verb with the \"ING\" ending allows us to predict the present by guessing what should be happening at a particular time; \"She is probably having a nap right now.\" The future present continuous using \"Will\", \"Have\", \"Been\" and a verb with the \"ING\" is very commonly used to describe how long something has been going on by a certain time in the future \"By July I will have been living in Montreal for five years.\" The future perfect indicates something that will be completed by a certain time in the future. Finally \"be going + infinitive\" allows us to show an intention or a plan for the future \"I am going visit Paris next summer.\" A very interesting and eye opening unit.
